Plan Your Emerald Coast Trip
Picture slow mornings with coffee on the balcony, afternoons with your toes in sugar-white sand, and evenings watching the sun sink into the Gulf. This is life on the Emerald Coast, and it looks a little different depending on where you stay. Choose Destin for its lively harbor and fresh-off-the-boat seafood, 30A for walkable beach towns and rare coastal dune lakes, or Sandestin for golf, bay views, and evenings at Baytowne Wharf.
Our travel guides below cover the best beaches, restaurants, and things to do in each area, plus the local tips that make a trip feel easy. Read up, pick your spot, and let our team handle the rest, so the only thing left to decide is which sunset to catch first.

Our Emerald Coast Travel Guides
Good To Know Before You Go
Best Time To Visit
Late spring and early fall mean warm water and lighter crowds. Summer is peak season.
Getting Here
Fly into Destin-Fort Walton Beach (VPS). Panama City and Pensacola airports are each about an hour away.
Know Your Beach Flags
Check the flag before you swim. Green is calm, yellow is caution, red is high hazard, and double red means stay out.
Getting Around
Highway 98 backs up in summer. A golf cart is the easiest way to get to the beach, dinner, and back.
Book Early
Summer weeks, spring break, and holidays fill up months out. So do the popular restaurants and fishing charters.
Beat The Heat
The Gulf sun is strong. In July and August, hit the beach early or late and pack plenty of sunscreen.
